Our
Process

At Safe Home Mold Inspections, our core values—IMPACTE—guide every step of our process. We provide customized solutions that prioritize the health of your property and its occupants while being cost-conscious. By focusing on only the necessary steps, we save our clients money without compromising quality. Each inspection reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability, and community, ensuring exceptional results.
Mold Inspection

A mold inspection begins with a focused visual assessment of the property, where we carefully examine both the interior and exterior for signs of water staining or damage, and other indications of water intrusion. Utilizing tools like moisture meters to measure suspicious areas and infrared cameras to detect hidden moisture, we identify potential breeding grounds for mold before they become problematic.
Mold Testing

If the initial inspection suggests further investigation, we proceed to mold testing. This phase involves collecting samples from visible areas of concern using swabs or tape pulls, along with pulling samples of the air to measure mold spores and allergens in the property. Using precision-calibrated equipment, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the indoor environment. The results from these tests, guide the next steps in addressing any mold issues.
Mold Investigation

The investigation phase builds on the information gathered during the inspection and testing, focusing on accurately locating mold within the property and identifying its causes. This may involve partial removal of building materials such as walls, wood, or flooring to fully assess and define the mold problem, ensuring a healthy living environment.
Mold Protocol

We develop a Mold Remediation Protocol, a detailed document that directs remediation companies on the steps required to restore the property. The protocol will involve addressing the source of the water intrusion, removing contaminated materials, and operating air scrubbers until moisture levels are reduced to the proper percentages. More often than not, ductwork cleaning will be mandated. At Home Safe Mold Inspections, we maintain objectivity by not performing remediation ourselves, but we can recommend trusted companies if needed.
Remediation

The mold remediation process, handled by a professional company, focuses on thoroughly removing mold and preventing its return. This includes isolating affected areas, and removing contaminated materials. Specialized equipment is used to clean and dry the property, ensuring all mold is effectively eliminated. Home Safe\ Mold Inspections supports the process by providing guidance, answering any questions the remediation team may have and making sure the process stays on schedule.
Clearance

The last phase is the Clearance Inspection and testing. This ensures that remediation has been completed to the highest standards. We perform meticulous visual assessments and air quality testing, using the same rigorous standards as in the initial phases. This step confirms that all mold has been eradicated and the property is safe and healthy. As an objective third party, Home Safe only signs off on the clearance when the property meets our strict criteria, ensuring the integrity and success of the remediation process.
